Sapphire Valley has several mountaintop neighborhoods that sit high above the valley at elevations up to 4,300 feet. Two of the major mountains in Sapphire Valley are Bald Rock Mountain and Hogback Mountain. Bald Rock Mountain is home to the neighborhoods of Bald Rock and The Divide at Bald Rock. These gated communities have separate HOAs but are "sister communities" They were developed by the same company and share each other's amenities. Bald Rock has an equestrian center with two barns, many fenced pasture areas and miles of trails. Bald Rock also has it's own access to Panthertown Valley, a 6,300 acre USFS wilderness area. Bald Rock has two "cabin areas" which have smaller cabins on 1/2 acre lots and is a great way to have access to all of Bald Rock and The Divide's amenities at a very reasonable price. The HOA for the cabin area even takes care of the grounds maintenance for the individual cabins, something fairly unique for the area. Other than the cabins which are priced from the mid $300's, many of the homes in Bald Rock are estates on larger tracts of land. It's not uncommon for these estates to actually have their own equestrian facilities with barns and pastures.
